Special equipment is required to replace these mounts

To remove the top strut mount there is specialised tools required.

A spring compressor tool is what is needed to compress the coil spring to enable to take the mount off the strut.

Be careful using this tool as there is tension loaded on the coil spring.

Normally the top bearing wears out,but where the bearing sits in the mount can also show signs of wear.

thats why we recommend the kit to safeguard having to dismantle to replace the mount due to the same noise.

SYMPTOMS: thumping noise when brakes are applied, and especially after a brake overhaul strangely enough
