Alcantarea imperialis Rubra

A spectacular architectural bromeliad prized for its large rosette of glossy, leathery foliage that develops rich burgundy-red tones in bright light. Its bold form makes it an outstanding feature plant for tropical-style gardens, courtyards and large containers.

Mature plants may produce an impressive flower spike reaching up to 2m tall, adding further drama to the display. Thrives in warm, sheltered coastal positions with well-drained soil and performs best in full sun to partial shade. Protect from frost. Evergreen.
