Strelitzia juncea

A striking clump-forming perennial from South Africa, prized for its unique reed-like foliage and architectural form. Spectacular orange and blue bird-like flowers are produced from spring, rising above the foliage and creating a dramatic tropical display.

An excellent feature plant for containers, courtyards and sheltered garden positions, where its bold shape can be fully appreciated. Prefers a warm, sunny location with moist, well-drained soil. Protect from heavy frost. Evergreen.
