Blechnum fluviatile
or Kiwakiwa, is a decorative New Zealand native fern valued for its distinctive low growing habit, forming a many pointed star of spreading fronds. It creates excellent texture and ground coverage in shaded gardens, particularly when mass planted or used beneath trees.
Prefers a cool, sheltered position with filtered light and moist, free draining soil. Keep well watered during establishment and protect from heavy frost. Evergreen and naturally compact.
