Elingamita johnsonii
a rare and highly sought after native, endemic to the Three Kings Islands. It forms a small single-leader tree with glossy green foliage and showy clusters of large red berries that add striking colour and interest. Seldom available and rarely offered for sale, it is a collector’s plant with strong appeal for native and ornamental gardens.
Happy growing in containers or in the garden in a warm frost-free position, it thrives in coastal sites once established. Prefers good drainage and grows well in sun to semi shade. Evergreen and best protected from frost.
