Cistus lusitanicus
or Portuguese Rock Rose, is a compact evergreen shrub valued for its crisp white flowers, each marked with a distinctive purple blotch and a bright yellow centre. Flowering occurs through late spring and early summer, creating a soft Mediterranean look.
Adaptable to a wide range of soils, it performs best in full sun with free draining conditions. Prune after flowering to maintain a neat, compact form. Hardy and evergreen.
