Puya alpestris commonly known as Sapphire Tower, is a dramatic rosette-forming succulent grown for its bold architectural foliage and extraordinary flowering display. In summer it sends up stiff upright panicles of spectacular tubular flowers in deep metallic sapphire blue that gradually age to rich purple red creating a truly unforgettable feature.
