Aquapro Pro Algae Scraper

Algae that a magnet or pad won't shift usually needs a blade, and most bladed scrapers make that a chore. The built around fixing the annoying part: changing the blade.

The blade sits in a quick-release holder with locating pins and pressure plates instead of screws. To swap it you pop the head, drop the old blade out, drop a new one in, and you're done. No screwdriver, no fiddling with tiny fasteners over a full tank, and far less chance of slicing a finger doing it. A sharp blade cuts algae cleanly, so a scraper that makes you dread changing the blade is a scraper you end up using with a dull one. This one removes that excuse.

The long stainless steel shaft has a matte grey powder-coated finish, so it reaches the bottom of a deep tank from outside the water without your arm getting wet, and the coating keeps it from glaring under tank lights or spotting up the way bare steel does. The blade clears green spot algae, diatoms and hard coralline build-up that pads and magnets skate over.

Pick the head to suit the job. The narrow head works into corners, around inlet pipes and tight aquascape gaps. The wide head clears large open panels in fewer passes when you're doing a full clean.
