Maisel's Weisse Alkoholfrei Wheat Beer

Maisel’s Weisse Alkoholfrei is a specialty wheat beer brewed by Brauerei Gebr. Maisel, a family-owned brewery from Upper Franconia – a region in Germany with the highest concentration of breweries in the world. For many generations, the Maisel Family has shared this tradition and passion for the product with the next generation, while also perfecting it along the way.

The ideal thirst quencher for the active and nutrition-conscious connoisseur of a Bavarian wheat beer. Isotonic, rich in vitamins and with 33% fewer calories than Maisel’s Weisse Original. The specially developed brewing process gives Maisel’s Weisse Alkoholfrei its bright amber color and the fruity, spicy taste typical of wheat beer. Brewing a tasty, alcohol-free wheat beer is an art – after all, alcohol is a major flavor carrier in beer. Three methods are commonly used to remove the alcohol from beer: Dealcoholization, stopped fermentation or using a special yeast. All three offer advantages, but also disadvantages. The Brauerei Gebr. Maisel did not want to accept the disadvantages and developed its own process that combines the advantages of the first two.
First, Maisel’s Weisse Original is brewed using the brewery’s own “Maisel’s Weisse Hefe" and the alcohol is then gently removed. At the same time, a second brew is prepared in which the fermentation of the added yeast is stopped prematurely to prevent the malt sugar from fermenting into alcohol. The master brewers then use a procedure that is familiar to many from wine production: the two brews are blended together in order to combine the processes in the best possible way. This specially developed process preserves the full aroma of Maisel’s Weisse Original for non-alcoholic beer enjoyment.
Best served with Tartare, goat’s cheese or a summer salad.
