Pounamu | Greenstone Kuru Drop Pendant

The Kuru drop is thought of as a touch stone for grounding and meditative comfort. It represents a connection to the whenua (land) and to the ground beneath our feet. The kuru encourages confidence, knowledge, and comfort through adversity.

Beautifully hand carved in Hokitika, South Island, Aotearoa New Zealand by Donna Summers. As a child Donna was taught that pounamu is a precious taonga, a sacred gift that is passed down through the generations. While working with creating the traditional motifs she takes inspiration from the location where she grew up, whether it was spending hours at the beach fossicking or out in the far north wilderness.

Her work continues to evolve. Donna's intuitive carving reflects her skilled eye for beautiful design. Her pieces speak for themselves.
