NZ Serpentine Mere (BT003)

 

Stunning Serpentine Pounamu Mere. Carved locally by Allan Moreton.

Mere are a short-handled weapon shaped like a club with a flat elongated edge designed for close combat. Though weapons like this were made from a variety of mediums such as wood or bone, ones carved from pounamu were highly prized.

The Mere is a symbol of courage, respect and strength. It will enable you to cut through life’s obstacles

Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Māori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride. Pounamu is a gift from the heart.

Serpentine rich black and green hues, is said to be a wonderful stone to create a strong connection to Papatūānuku, aiding in meditation and spiritual exploration. Clears the chakras and opens the crown, creating balance and a sense of control over one's life. Helps to direct healing energy to problem areas
