Flame Tail Cichlid
(Aulonocara sp. “Flametail")
A striking African peacock cichlid from Lake Malawi, prized for its intense colour contrast and elegant swimming behaviour. Mature males display a vivid blue head and body that fades into a fiery orange-red tail, creating the “flame tail" effect this fish is named for. Females are more subdued in colour.
Relatively peaceful for a Malawi cichlid, the Flame Tail is best kept with other peacocks and similarly sized haplochromine cichlids in a spacious aquarium with open swimming areas and rocky décor.
