This handcrafted wooden depth map captures Paterson Inlet in full — the sheltered bays of Stewart Island's east coast, the contours of Ulva Island and Golden Bay, the quiet inlets and the deep channel that opens to the Foveaux Strait. Laser-cut from premium European Birch in our Auckland studio, and hand-painted layer by layer to reveal the seafloor beneath.

It starts with the inlet itself — bathymetric data recording the actual depth of the floor, contour by contour. The wood is laser-cut to those exact contours, painted in graduated tones from shallow turquoise to deep blue, and assembled entirely by hand by our team in Auckland. Every map is made this way — slowly, carefully, until the seafloor comes to life.

Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes — we offer a lifetime guarantee on craftsmanship. If something isn't right with the way your map is made, we'll fix it or replace it. In over 1,000 maps made, we've had three. Our small team takes real pride in the build quality of everything we send out.

How long will it take to make?
Every map is made to order in our Auckland studio. Allow 10–14 days from your order date, plus shipping. If you need it by a specific date, get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Can I personalise it?
