Coast to Coast approved Grade II Provider This course will introduce you to multi-sport kayaking on the Waimakariri River in a safe and progressive manner. Your instructors will teach you all the essential river skills you need to compete successfully in the Kathmandu Coast to Coast. Our team culture a very supportive and encouraging learning environment. Our team thrive on your success. with you as well as useful tips and skills for racing. By the end of your four days with us you will have the skills and confidence to start preparing yourself on the river for the Coast to Coast Race in February.
Our Grade II Program Coordinator Katie Cambie has won the Classic River Race a record six times and is the current holder of the Coast to Coast female kayak stage record. Her huge amount of racing experience, alongside 15 years managing Topsport has given her an unrelieved understanding of what new paddlers learning to kayak need. Her attention to detail and the ongoing support she and the wider Topsport team provide paddlers after this course is the reason why so many people choose Topsport. If you are travelling from outside of Christchurch to spend some time with us on the river or over the mountain here is some information to help plan you trip.

These requirements are in place for your safety and to ensure we can fit you in one of our boats (if required)

- You must be able to swim. No exceptions.
- Be training most days and have a good base fitness
- Weigh less than 100kg
- No taller than 6'4.
