The Hiwa 60 brings a contemporary take on the classic mid-century feature pendant. Designed as a centrepiece for both larger spaces and lower ceilings, it offers a more compact expression of the HIWA form, with broad proportions and a balanced silhouette. Our woollen lights work beautifully in warm, textural interiors, from modern coastal homes to alpine retreats.

Ideal as a main light in dining settings, bedrooms, and living rooms, or grouped in clusters. The concealed bulb softens glare while the knitted wool gently diffuses light, filling the room with a warm, inviting glow.

Named after Hiwa-i-te-rangi, the Matariki star associated with aspiration and new beginnings, HIWA features a faceted, star-like geometry shaped by the natural behaviour of knitted wool, with a subtle nod to mid-century silhouettes.

At the heart of HIWA is an exploration of New Zealand strong wool as a high-performance lighting material, using its natural properties to soften sound and diffuse light. Crafted from undyed Romney wool grown at Palliser Ridge Farm in the Wairarapa, each piece carries a quiet connection to Aotearoa’s rural landscape, bringing warmth and texture to architectural spaces.

Made from 100% certified regenerative New Zealand strong wool, HIWA reflects a commitment to circular design, natural materials, and local craftsmanship.

Designed and assembled by hand on Waiheke Island, and made in Aotearoa New Zealand.
