Baby Ki Blanket Pattern

An Ode to Beautiful Japanese Stitchwork

For centuries Japan has been a leader of innovation in the knitting world. We created this series to introduce our audience to some of Japan's amazing stitch work and pay homage to the influence their culture has had on knitting.
The Ki Blanket, a design inspired by the Fig tree - a beloved symbol in Japanese culture. Figs are known as the “fruit of longevity" in Japan. The Tree, or Ki, is a symbol of eternal strength.
This delightful Ki pattern creates a beautiful baby blanket and is made wonderfully therapeutic by having every alternate row worked in simple knit or purl stitches.
Please note: We recommend using Oi Merino yarns or similar when knitting this blanket.
