Couscous Israeli

, also known as ptitim, giant couscous, and pearl couscous, is a pasta made of semolina flour and water. It was created in the 1950s by prime minister David Ben-Gurion as a solution to feeding the growing population of immigrants in Israel. Although commonly mistaken for a whole grain, it is important to note that it is a type of pasta.
