There is often an argument about whether the Waitaki Valley is closer to Canterbury or Otago, and really it’s a law unto itself, as one sniff of this Valli Waitaki Pinot Noir will show you. Instantly it’s a world apart from the others, with a completely different and more spice-driven bouquet, reminiscent of some of the great Burgundies. A majestic and elegantly perfumed wine, this is already delicious but will cellar for 10 years with ease.
