Holger Shirt Petite Knit - (4ply Child)
Please note: this is a printed knitting pattern. It is not a digital download.
The Holger Shirt is a lightweight, striped sweater worked from the top down, designed for everyday wear with a clean, relaxed fit.
You begin with the back yoke, worked flat with short rows to shape the shoulders. Each shoulder is then worked separately before being joined to form the front. From there, the body is joined in the round and worked in simple stripes.
Sleeves are picked up around the armholes and worked down, and the sweater is finished with a folded neckline for a neat, comfortable finish.
This is a great option if you love the Holger style but want something lighter and more wearable for everyday. Size Guide

This is a great pattern for lighter-weight yarns, making it perfect for layering or year-round wear.
For best results:
- Use a soft merino or merino blend for comfort
- Choose colours with enough contrast so the stripes stand out
Because this uses smaller amounts of multiple colours, it’s also ideal for:
- Using leftovers
- Building your own colour combinations
- Letting kids choose their own palette (which always helps with wearing it) Difficulty
★★★☆☆ (3 out of 5)
A great next-step garment for knitters confident with top-down construction.
