Jean Marc Brocard Chablis 2024
95 POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team
"The 2024 season in Chablis has produced a beautifully classic wines. A steady, unhurried growing season allowed the Chardonnay to retain its vibrant natural acidity while building finely tuned, concentrated aromatics. The result is a wine of real precision and drive—energetic, tightly focused, and underpinned by a deeply satisfying mineral backbone. Benchmark Chablis"
"A blend of different terroirs of domaine holdings. Clear and pale in colour, with quite a concentration of white fruit, ripe and accessible, but not soft. Starts on the fruit then the marine-iodine note appears behind. Clean and clear fruit to finish. In bottle. Drink from 2024-2026."

Jean-Marc Brocard is one of the leading producers in the region, producing a first class example with the quintessential character of true Chablis. Notes of lemon and white peach on the nose lead onto a palate that is clean and rounded, dry and expressive. A perfect accompaniment to oysters, seafood and grilled fish.
Made from vines planted in the Malantes vineyard, this is a wonderful pure, crystalline Chablis which would embarrass many a premier cru. The wonderful Malantes vineyard is situated on a hillside that runs roughly parallel to that on which sits Montmains. While Montmains is a premier cru Malantes, which has a similar exposition but perhaps turns a little more to the east, whereas Montmains is south-east, is just classed as village Chablis. This makes the Malantes vineyard a very superior source of village Chablis.
