Hokitika River Jade Oyster Shell Pendant Woven Stone Jade

Carved from a natural shingle found many years ago at the Hokitika River's mouth, the natural, oyster-shell appearance of this cobble encouraged the minimalistic treatment that you see in this pendant. The jade is a naturally schistose example of the stone, and that schistosity adds markedly to its resemblance to the classic foliated oyster shell. The tone is a deep green, and the stone has taken a high gloss on both sides of the pebble.
