Dick Frizzell (1943-), is one of New Zealand's most high profile contemporary artists. His work is best described as pop in its appropriation of kitsch kiwiana icons, and incorporation of them into his often cartoon-like paintings and lithographs. Frizzell loves "putting his art to work".
