A rare engineering masterpiece... The Rev Moule's Patent Earth Toilet 1860
I could not turn away this bizarre artefact when it came my way. It was a great success in its day, helping to revolutionise the way we managed 'number 2's!
This is a dry sand toilet, wooden frame, box and seat with a patented porcelain bowl.
This important and rare example came to with very early settlers. Possibly only a handful remain in museums. It would make a nice addition to the man cave or to a home museum too!
It has historic borer damage and a weak cupboard door, but is otherwise tidy (if not even functional!) considering its considerable age.
