EATING Blue Cod is considered a South Island delicacy. It has a mild flavour, and a thick flaky fillet that falls apart easily when cooked. Blue Cod is suitable for most cooking methods, and very fresh fish can be eaten sashimi-style or used in raw fish dishes. Fresh Blue Cod fillets have a stronger, more distinct odour than other fresh fish varieties. Bring fish up to room temperature (just like meat) before cooking for best results. A standard serving of protein for a hungry adult at dinner time is 150g-200g, if you’re wondering how much to order.

STORING Fresh fillets should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and will keep for 2-3 days. If you receive fish from us vacuum-packed, it’s perfectly fine to be popped into the fridge in the sealed bag, but a better option would be to unpack it into an airtight container.
