EATING Tarakihi are a medium-firm fish, suitable for most cooking methods. Very fresh Tarakihi makes great sashimi or marinated raw fish. A standard serving of protein for a hungry adult at dinner time is 150g-200g, if you’re wondering how much to order.
STORING Fresh fillets should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and will keep for 2-3 days. If you receive fish from us vacuum-packed, it’s perfectly fine to be popped into the fridge in the sealed bag, but a better option would be to unpack it into an airtight container. Drain excess liquid from the container daily to keep the fish very fresh. If you would like to freeze your fish, it keeps well in our vacuum-packaging for 3 months maximum. If you want to freeze it for longer than three months, it’s a good idea to re-pack it before doing so.
