2024, Domaine Tollot-Beaut, CHOREY-LÈS-BEAUNE
The 2024 Chorey-lès-Beaune Village is the usual blend of two lots. It has a much better nose than the Bourgogne Côte d'Or: cranberry and redcurrant, touches of cold black tea. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, pretty red cherry fruit, a pleasant countervailing bitterness and a cohesive finish. Unpretentious. 88-90 Neal Martin, Vinous (2026).
A blend from the two tanks. A pleasing light ruby colour. Once again, the classic pinot perfume emerges, missing in the hotter vintages. There is evident density here with cherries and raspberries on both nose and palate. Here the tannins are well integrated, just enough to add a little grip, Acidity levels are just right and the finish is persistent. 88-90 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2025).
Tank sample. Cherry fruit to the fore. Medium weight, crisp and pure. Chorey-lès-Beaune has moved on a lot over the past decade! No longer lean and mean, this is fleshy vibrant wine which is full of character. Love this style of Chorey! (AWH) 16/20 Andy Howard MW, Jancisrobinson.com (2026).
A more spiced and faintly smoky nose – less round but with a lovely intensity and purity of fruit. Very silky and with good concentration – I love the texture of this. Beautiful Chorey. Bill Nanson.
