2023, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, CORTON, Grand Cru, 'Le Rognet et Corton'
Aromas of dark cherries, berries, liquorice and spices introduce the 2023 Corton Le Rognet et Corton Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, deep and layered wine that's the most concentrated, structured red in the range this year.
93 William Kelley.
A mid crimson purple. The nose is notably more backward. A crunchy mineral note to finish. After a more sombre mouthful of fruit, a wine which could blossom to a higher level much later. Drink from 2031-2037.
91-94 Jasper Morris MW.
A more vertical nose today. This is a big wine with reserves of flavour and the only wine with some creamy oak that’s visible in the finish – but I must say – delicious. Only very faintly tannic and not a bit drying.
Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.
Deep ruby with clear rim. Restrained spicy raspberry vanilla red fruit nose. Round juicy red fruit on attack. Tannic mid-palate. Will need 10 years.
