2023, Domaine de la Vougeraie, BIENVENUE-BÂTARD-MONTRACHET, Grand Cru

The 2023 Bienvenues-Btard-Montrachet Grand Cru, incidentally served after the Btard-Montrachet, has more complexity and a lovely sea spray influence on the nose. The palate is crisp and fresh, with more tension than the Btard and a sense of palpable energy toward the lightly spiced finish. This should age well in bottle. 92-94 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).

There is a lime tint to the primrose colour. Instant class at first sniff, making me smile. The trick is to have this much delicacy without sacrificing any latent intensity.
