Ben Nevis 'Cadenhead' 11 years old 46%

This bottling from Ben Nevis distillery was selected by Cadenhead from a parcel of ex Bourbon Hogsheads. Big on distillate character, there is an abundance of fruity notes with underlying malty sweetness. The nose opens up with sweet spiced apple strudel, dusted with lashings of icing sugar. white grapes, woody cinnamon and grassy tones round out the nose on this Fort William classic. Creamy, malty sweetness dances across the palate, married with ripened gooseberries. The sweetness continues on through the finish, with notes of kiwifruit, salted caramel brittle and barley sugars.
