Blair Athol 'Single Malts of Scotland' 2006 / 18 years old 47.1%

A brand new release from the Single Malts of Scotland range, this time coming from the Blair Athol distillery in the central Highlands. Selected from an ex-Pedro Ximenez cask, this is a syrupy and sweet dram offering notes of treacle toffee, date syrup and a delicate, earthy edge of struck matches. A rich tone of fruit leather comes through in the finish which is rich and mouth-filling.
