Nurnberger Sausage

 
The Nurnberger sausage was invented around 700 years ago. According to legend, resourceful Nuremberg restaurateurs wanted to serve their guests even after the curfew so the innkeepers invented sausages that fit through the keyhole. According to another story, the German butchers of the time reduced the size of the sausage to save on taxes.

Whatever the story the Nürnberger Bratwurst is an indispensable classic from sausage heaven. Made coarse to medium-coarse this sausage has become well-known all over the world with its flavour combination of bacon and caraway.
