Distilled at one of the most in-demand producers in Japan, this is a rare example of an independently bottled single cask from Chichibu distillery. Founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2004, Chichibu has received world-wide acclaim, and was at the forefront of the new-wave of whisky making in Japan. This single first fill ex-bourbon barrel opens with a fresh and fragrant aroma, with green grapes, lemongrass, sugared pink grapefruit, kiwi, and orange blossom. The palate is bright, reminiscent of a Mimosa or Bellini, with zested lemon, white rose petals, sandalwood, vanilla latte, panna cotta, nutmeg, and gentle baking spices. Remarkably sophisticated for its age.
